Posts will be as a care to put them, probably few and far between most of the time. More frequent when I can think of something to post.
But as an intro- I'm an autistic adult, dx when I was 19 after a very bad nervous break down in my freshman year of college (that break down was 8+ years coming, not surprising to me but was to everyone else I hear). Since then I lived with my parents, trained my own guide dog/service dog, been in weekly therapy, take my pills like I'm supposed to (they mostly don't work, having a different a differently wired nervous system is fun sometimes, let me tell you), moved into a home of my own a year ago, train people to train dogs for a living, live with my own 4 soon to be 3 dogs, and will be going to try that whole college thing again this fall.
In addition to the autism, I live with migraine headaches, fibromyalgia, a sensory integration disorder and a spatial processing disorder. Oh yeah I also have really bad insomnia, anxiety and disabling bouts of depression.
I have learned in the past 6 years to take things one step at a time and just keep going by putting one foot in front of the other. Some days that's easier said than done. But so far I've kept at it with the help of my dogs, my friends, my family and a few really great docs.
So here is my blog, where I try to remind myself to just take it "One Step at a Time".
