This summer even with all of the wet weather we've had my fibro has been doing pretty good. Had a few days of discomfort but that was about it, compared to this past spring where I was barely moving and laying in bed all the time. My PCP had me try ibuprofen and all the other OTC nsaids and when those didn't work, put me on imipramine which to many's amazement did the trick. I try to get a good amount of walking done at least one walk every day as they say light exercise is supposed to help. And I try to watch what I eat but the cocktail of drugs I'm on now all has the side effect of weight gain so yeah that's a losing battle most of the time.
But this week has been bad in fibro land. My knees, ankles and hips are screaming "Noooooo!!!!!" every time I move. If it continues I'm debating increasing my imipramine dose (I have the flexibility of that within reason according to my PCP) and see if that makes any difference as I've been taking ibuprofen with no positive effect.
When things are like this my balance and coordination always seem to get screwed up as well. Don't really know why the 2 seem to go together but they do. I've found myself nearly tiping over more times than I care to count and have to try to catch myself before I go smashing into a wall or worse.
This weekend and early next week are going to be super busy, Sat I have a trip into Boston with a student. Then Sun I have to teach and be on my feet for 4 hrs straight, then Monday another trip into Boston to register for college. I'm really hoping I don't have to stand in line on Monday for hours, my joints will be going on strike.
I went to acupuncture today so we'll see if the treatment helped my pain at all. I can't usually tell right away it's more of a long term cumulative effect for me.
At least I am done for today with any scheduled obligations. I don't know that I'll get my walk in, we'll have to see. If I do, I am definately treating myself to some good chocolate. I haven't been to the chocolate store in a very long time, and I think after this week, a treat is in order!
